Helen Ainsworth ARAD PDTD and Elizabeth Johnson ISTD CDE DDE RAD RTS founded The National Ballet Studio in 2013.
Helen and Elizabeth have always been driven by their passion to provide the best classical training possible believing Ballet is the foundation of all dance. With this in mind both are constantly exploring and developing training methods and techniques to achieve their mission. This has included training from Hope Keelan Artistic Teacher and Programmer Manager for Royal Ballet Lower School White Lodge, as well as regular discussions and coaching with leading UK ballet teachers Angela Rowe and Emma Sage.
In August 2018 TNBS hosted the Middle Easts first Progressions in Ballet Technique Teaching course. This was attended by teachers from the GCC region.
TNBS Teachers regularly attend Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance CPD courses.
TNBS teachers are currently working towards licentiate and fellowship qualifications with the ISTD.
Through the classes and training on offer at TNBS students that have studied with us have been awarded places at

The opportunities we offer the students extend from regular classes to also included
Master Classes with Principals of Stuttgart Ballet, David Moore and Alicia Armatrain, as well as private coaching from Corps member Paula Rezende
Master classes from Royal Ballet Alumni and soloist at Pittsburgh Ballet William Moore
TNBS students were invited to attend master classes at Dubai Opera lead by LA Dance Company and to observe class with Houston Ballet.
TNBS produces annual galas, 2015 – 2018 have taken place at the Madinat Theatre in Dubai.
2019 gala will be taking place in late June.
TNBS are delighted to be preparing selected pupils for the International Ballet Grand Prix Singapore, a competition supported by some of the leading vocational schools worldwide.
